Ramadan Etiquette in Qatar – Naseh

Ramadan is marked as the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It is recognized as one of the Five Pillars of Islam and it is the primary religious holiday for Muslims surpassing all other importance. Throughout this month, Muslims fast from dawn to dusk, engaging in prayers and good deeds. Based on visual observations of the crescent moon, the month lasts 29 to 30 days, as reported by several personal narratives collected in hadiths. Muslims abstain from eating, drinking, and smoking from sunrise to dusk. According to some traditions, they also refrain from using foul language.
