What are Improper Integrals

Where the integrand f is continuous on the closed, finite interval [a,b]. Since such a function is necessarily bounded, the integral I is necessarily a finite number; for positive f it corresponds to the area of a bounded region of the plane, a region contained inside some disk of finite radius with center at origin. Such integrals are also called proper integrals.
