Nova Scotia has provided a sufficient number of LMIA-approved jobs for immigrants, mainly in healthcare, IT, hospitality, skilled trades, and agriculture. The LMIA enables the hiring of foreign workers without affecting the Local Labor Market. First comes the search for available LMIA-approved jobs; a connection is established with the employers, and on being hired, the employer then applies for the LMIA. On the positive status of the LMIA, the candidate can then file his work permit. That follows with meaningful employment, with a possibility of permanent residency in Nova Scotia.
