Anxiety is not for women any occasional worry. It is more a deeply personal experience that affects millions of people all over the world. More women than men are diagnosed with anxiety disorders, almost double. The explanation may lie somewhere in the overlapping and intertwining of the biological, hormonal, and social aspects in developing anxiety. The pressures of managing a career and family life coupled with the emotive burden of meeting unrealistic societal expectations manifest anxiety in different forms: from incessant worrying to panic attacks and physical signs such as fatigue and restlessness.
